Are Mouse Droppings Dangerous?
To be blunt, yes. Mice, like the common Deer Mouse, can pass on a virus called the Hantavirus. It’s nearly impossible to tell if a Mouse has this virus, so it’s always recommended to stay away at all costs. Rodent droppings, like mice feces can introduce harmful bacteria into the air, making you sick.
Can Rat Poop Make You Sick?
Yes. Like we stated before, rats and mice both can carry an array of diseases that can be passed on via their poop. If you see rodent droppings, you likely have some unwelcome guests.
How to Identify Rat Droppings
Rat and mouse droppings look relatively the same, but differ in size. They essentially look like grains of rice, about 1-2 centimeters long and skinny. If you are unsure what type of rodent droppings you have, a pest control professional will gladly help.
